Hoorah!

Hoorah!

Thursday 9th Feb was a strange ol' day. Mid morning I got a phone call from my estate agents (which is rarely good) in which they explained that everything was bad and that we would not be exchanging for at least another month - if at all.

Doom; gloom; doom.

Told DV. Doomy Gloom Gloom

Half an hour later got a call from my solicitors who asked if I was happy to exchange the next day! Woohoo!

Anyway we exchanged on Friday and are all set to move on the 17th! Life is good.

Hoorah :)

Movin' Blues

We've been trying to move house now for over two years - and I think that it's starting to get to me. I don't think it's the chain breaking; or the never ending costs; or even the uncertainty - I think it's the fact that with all of these you end up putting your entire life on hold.

We almost exchanged two weeks ago - but the day before we found out that our buyer's buyer hadn't sorted their mortgage or even done their searches. So now two weeks later our lives are in 60 large cardboard boxes - mostly labelled "stuff" - I get bored labelling quite quickly :)

Wow - my first moaning post :)

Aphorism Time - bye bye December - hello January

December's quote was
"The only difference between a rut and the grave is the depth"

I quite enjoyed it and will keep a little bit of trying to do things differently in the back of my mind,

Time for Aphorisms Galore (http://www.ag.wastholm.net/) to do hit me with some random wisdom:

"A nuclear war can ruin your whole day."
Hmmm I must admit - I'm not sure that I can do a great deal with that - sure I can try to avoid starting a nuclear war or I can even do the opposite and try starting one. I think I'll try another. Maybe in the future if anyone reads any of this I'll start letting others choose :)

"All animals except man know that the ultimate of life is to enjoy it." .Samuel Butler
Okay - I can work with this - try to enjoy life more - starting Jan 1. Of course I think that I actually enjoy life a fair bit anyway - but I'm sure it can be improved.

Christmas is a comin' !

I Love Christmas.

I love the parties;
the happy atmospheres;
the present giving;
the seeing lots of friends;
the parties;
the parties;
the really quiet roads on the way to work
the snow - when; if

Saying that I'm not so fond of
the shopping for the presents I like giving
the hangovers from the parties
the trying to see everyone one after another - even though no-one lives in the same city.

I still love it though :)

So far we've made it through a few works bashes - great, and oh so tired - and following straight on a visit by Lucid Destiny and the ever lovely George (whose lj name I've forgotten)). They are both great as usual.

Now we have a week left to buy the last few gifts and then the hoards descend (a good thing in case you were wondering). Usually we go a visiting. This year however we've opened the oven and the drinks to 21 party goers from the 24st to the 27th December and then on New Years eve we high tail it to Poole to gatecrash someone else's house - it's gonna be a grand grand Xmas :)
